VetFamily spirit growing in France
Vetfamily France recently organized a very well-received convention over two days bringing together member clinics with various stakeholders in the animal health world. This was the first VetFamily convention in France, and took place in l’Isle sur la Sorgue in Provence in southern France, with almost 100 participants.
During this event, veterinarians from all over France were able to meet, exchange and share experiences and insights with other members of the VetFamily community, but also with the whole VetFamily team who were present throughout the stay. The ambition of the convention is for member clinics to leave with concrete tools to implement in their clinic, but also to leave with positive energy and new connections in the industry.
The convention had three main topics on the agenda;
- Recruitment. With the three keywords Attract, Recruit, Retain we find ways to help break the deadlock, analyze the current situation and define a strategy. One part of this was Benoît Savaëte from VetFamily who presented a project connecting working veterinarian with vet students, something that was highly appreciated by the participants.
- Prepare for tomorrow. The immense speed of change on the vet market is intimidating for many veterinarians with new tools, pet parent demand, legal requirements among other things. Xavier François from VetFamily brought some clarity on this by presenting updated facts of the market, the impact on the corporate chains, and the new EU regulation of pharma distribution in Europe.
- Wellbeing in clinics. A lot of stress is generated due to the combination of a booming market and lots more work in clinics with the same number of vets and nurses to deal with the increased workload. Sessions and discussions focused on concrete actions to take to increase wellbeing by reducing stress and administration. Some examples were management, self-development, better organization and building the team. A highlight on this topic was the inspirational session by multiple gold medalist at the Paralympics - Stéphane Houdet – talking about how everything is possible.
“Spending time together means a lot, for the members and for us, especially during this COVID period. We also got a lot of positive feedback for doing the convention a bit different from what people are used to – very friendly, fun, live music and lots of inspiration. One of the participants gave me this great feedback – “we are professional, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously” – I think this is exactly what VetFamily is about!”
