VetFamily Australia recently hosted the first annual member conference, marking a big moment since the merger of Vettr and Independent Vets of Australia. The event, titled "Redefining Success – Thriving Amidst Uncertainty," brought together 190 delegates from 93 independently owned veterinary practices across Australia. With support from 21 leading industry partners like Hill’s, Boehringer Ingelheim, MSD, Vetnostics, Provet, Virbac, Elanco, and Zoetis, the conference created a unique space for practice owners to network, learn, and strengthen their businesses in today’s ever-changing landscape.

The event kicked off with a welcome evening, where attendees connected with Supplier Partners over food, drinks, and good conversations, setting the tone for two days of insightful sessions. These sessions covered everything from the current economy and inventory management to client retention, pricing strategies, technology, team dynamics, talent management, and, most importantly, how to thrive in uncertain times. Each session was designed to equip veterinary practice owners with practical tools and strategies to not just survive but excel in today’s challenging environment.

VetFamily Australia is committed to supporting the veterinary community by fostering knowledge-sharing, boosting buying power, and providing ongoing support—all while respecting the independence and unique values of each clinic. This approach is key to maintaining a diverse and vibrant veterinary sector that stands strong against the pressures of corporate ownership.

Feedback from VetFamily members was overwhelmingly positive. Many praised the sense of community, support, and the wealth of resources available. One member shared, “Being part of VetFamily isn’t just about joining a buying group—it’s about becoming part of a community where ideas are shared, and relationships with suppliers grow stronger.” Another attendee added, “This conference has really shown me the benefits of being part of a group rather than going it alone.”

If you’re an independent veterinary practice owner looking to take your practice to the next level and join a supportive, like-minded community, we invite you to explore the benefits of VetFamily membership. Together, we can redefine success and thrive as a united community.
