Independent veterinary leaders gather in São Paulo
Last week, over 140 owners and managers of independent veterinary clinics and hospitals from across Brazil came together in São Paulo for a full-day event focused on connection, education, and shared progress.
VetFamily’s Member Day brought together a senior audience of decision-makers to explore timely and high-impact topics in modern veterinary care — including practice management, endocrinology, and cardiology.
Leading the program were respected key opinion leaders from VetUnity, a renowned specialty clinic based in Brazil and part of the VetFamily network. Their deep expertise and practical insights set the tone for a high-quality scientific and strategic agenda — firmly rooted in the daily realities of independent practice.
A platform for ideas, collaboration, and growth
Supported by a strong group of partner companies — including Dechra, Boehringer Ingelheim, BeneVet, Vet Line, FinPet, DataMars/PetLink, and OnePet — the event offered much more than clinical knowledge.
Participants highlighted the opportunity to connect with peers, exchange ideas, and explore new approaches to both medical care and business development. The lively atmosphere, professional setting, and interactive sessions reinforced the power of collaboration in an increasingly complex veterinary landscape.
“The energy in the room was incredible. It’s clear that independent clinics in Brazil are ready to lead — not follow — when it comes to high-quality, modern veterinary care,” says Henry Berger, Country Manager for VetFamily Brazil. “This event was about strengthening that momentum and building a strong, connected community that shares the same values.”
Strengthening the independent sector
Events like this show how the independent veterinary community — when supported with the right knowledge, tools, and partnerships — can lead the way in innovation and patient care. From new technologies to smarter clinic workflows, the future of the profession doesn’t just belong to large corporate groups — it belongs to those who take part, stay curious, and grow together.
As the veterinary industry continues to evolve worldwide, building strong, local communities of independent clinics is key to maintaining diversity, choice, and high-quality care for animals and their owners.
