Anya Prevallet-Kinstle

At VetFamily, we are proud of our team members and their skills and passions. In this employee spotlight, we're excited to introduce you to our data aficionado Anya Prevallet-Kinstle.

What's the most rewarding part of working at VetFamily?

Knowing that my work directly helps others make informed decisions and excel in their roles. Quality data enables us to negotiate better deals for our clinics and build stronger partnerships. It's a win-win for everyone.

How does your work contribute to VetFamily's mission of supporting independent vet clinics worldwide?

Together with the rest of the team I make sure clinic data is top-notch. Clinics get rebates as VetFamily members, and it’s our job to ensure they get the right ones. We also use clinic spend data to negotiate better agreements with suppliers, making VetFamily membership even more valuable while making the whole community of clinics and suppliers stronger.

What's a typical day like for you in your role of Data Quality Manager?

My days vary, but it's usually a deep dive into excel for formatting and validating supplier data. I'm also on a mission to track down data gaps and inaccuracies. Checking rebates for our member clinics is another priority. Then, I collaborate with our tech team to develop our business intelligence tools and fine-tune our spend data software to suit our stakeholders. With a job that can feel never-ending, having a game plan for maximum efficiency is crucial, so I need to stay organized and prioritize. I'm also lucky to work with almost everyone at VetFamily, which gives me a great understanding of our diverse markets and teams.

Tell us about your background and how you landed the role at VetFamily.

I studied Chemical Engineering and fell in love with numbers. After relocating from the US to Sweden, I found myself in a data-focused project management role, where I discovered my passion for creating data analysis reports. When I saw the opening at VetFamily for a Data Quality Manager, I jumped at the opportunity. Problem-solving has always been my thing, and this role lets me investigate mysteries and data puzzles, which I absolutely enjoy.

Maintaining data quality can be a challenge. What are some common issues you face, and how do you handle them?

Dealing with multiple markets and countries means diverse data issues. Different product codes in different places, data in various languages, and loads of data in different formats keep us on our toes. We’re a tight team working on this, and we have checks in place during data processing to ensure accuracy and extensive validation processes to spot and fix issues. Balancing data accuracy and speed can be a challenge. But I work closely with our tech team to automate and streamline processes. Prioritization is my secret sauce to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.

What do you enjoy outside of the office?

I'm quite the active person. I love tennis, Muay Thai, hiking, camping, and skiing. Embracing the Swedish winter with some skiing has been a fun addition to my hobbies!
